For Donors

Our operations rely on gifts from people who may never use our services, but who realize that our services are needed by some of the most vulnerable youth in our society. The Center is here for young people in times of crisis and in times of celebration, but we could not be here at all if it weren't for all gifts. both large and small, that we receive from the community as a whole.

Private donations are the key to paying for those necessary but unglamorous items such as utilities, insurance and routine maintenance, which are key to securing other dollars through grants and gifts, since without basic operations everything else cannot happen. In addition, although the Center does receive some state and federal support, that support is not always sufficient to provide the breadth of programming the Center needs to maintain.

You may want to consider making a gift to the Center and breaking it into installments; therefore helping us year round!

When asking for help, an LGBTQ youth face a difficult reality being open about their sexuality and risks the scorn, misunderstanding, violence and rejection prevalent in society at large, scorn that can come from administration and staff in some programs and also from their “straight” peers in the program.
Meanwhile, those who choose silence or denial about their sexuality reveal less than their helpers need to know and, ultimately, receive less from the program than they need and deserve.
